My wife always wanted to take ballroom dance lessons; I finally broke down and bought her a gift certificate for Christmas. We have been going to Fred Astaire for over a year now; and I never thought I would have so much fun. The staff is fabulous, we love the Friday night parties and we have even attended some of the regional events. We have truly found a love for a life time at Fred Astaire.

FADS Menomonee Falls 1st Students in 2007!I have always admired and envied skilled dancers. I have collected every one of the old Fred Astaire movies and have always dreamed of being swept around a dance floor like in the movies. Well, that dream is coming true for me now thanks to some very special people. I joined the Menomonee Falls Fred Astaire Studios ballroom dance classes in October ’07 and from day one the entire staff has treated me like family. Being embraced by this group of talented gracious professionals has meant the world to me. I have chosen to “major” in foxtrot, rumba, swing and salsa. It’s a challenge, but the most fun I’ve ever had. I can honestly say it is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I look forward to every class with such anticipation. Mr. Danconia and Mr. Franco are each so talented, professional, patient, encouraging and fun that every class is a delight. (Did I mention cute?) The Friday night parties are a blast. I’ve met a whole new family of friends and we get to practice our dancing in a very fun and relaxed atmosphere. I also attended my first ball – the Holiday Ball at the Hyatt in December. Well, that did it! That really was my dream come true. One of the most elegant affairs I’ve ever attended and I went to a lot of formal affairs when I lived in Washington DC. The difference was --- dancing. I got to be swept around a beautiful ballroom. Finally!
Thank you so much to the entire staff.

When I walked into the Fred Astaire Studio in Menomonee Falls I knew that this wasn’t just a dance studio. Immediately I was welcomed with open arms, smiling faces, and encouraging words. I decided to be brave and made an appointment for my very first dance lesson with Mr. Danconia. Well, that day eventually rolled around and I was a nervous wreck. I clearly remember walking up the stairs just shaking and thinking I can’t do this. I am going to fall flat on my face. So I decided to take a deep breath, walked through the door and from that moment on my life has changed forever.
I instantly fell in love with dancing and the special language it has without speaking any words. After my first few lessons I was hooked. Not only because of the fact that I was learning something new, but also the memories I was building and the family that I was entering into. My life was pretty mundane and I went through a lot of hurt and pain so I was pretty skeptical that dancing would boost me up and make me feel good. Well, I proved myself wrong because I am still dancing 4 months later, have moved up to social foundation and even took part in team match.
I feel so confident and alive and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am eternally grateful to all of the staff at Fred Astaire Menomonee Falls. They have a way of making a bad day just completely disappear the moment you set foot on the dance floor. From their constant smiles, hugs, and encouraging words I have never met so many inspirational positive people. Whenever I have a bad day, all I do is think of Ms. Heidi’s smile, a hug from Mr. Danconia along with his exuberant personality, a high five from Ms. Connelly and Mr. Franco, and that puts things in perspective. It helps me to realize how blessed I am to have had them all come into my life. I want to thank all of them especially Angie and Larson for taking a chance with me and watching me grow into a graceful beautiful dancer before their eyes.

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure a few years ago. In January 2007, my wife and I began dancing with Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Menomonee Falls. Since then, my blood pressure dropped significantly and I feel more relaxed than I have in years. Thanks Fred Astaire!!

I’ve been taking dance classes at Fred Astaire dance studio in Menomonee Falls since they opened in January. The staff is so much fun, and they have a ton of energy. I have learned all sorts of dances in classes that are designed specifically for people my age. This has been a great opportunity for me to learn the social dances that are popular today, while hanging out with really fun people!

“Imagine walking into a place so full of positive energy that it envelopes you into a big hug every moment you set foot inside its doors. Well that’s kind of what it feels like each time I come to Fred Astaire dancing studios in Menomonee Falls. You become a part of a family. My first three weeks was an immediate life changing experience. I’m a young engineer whose life was turning grim. The real world challenges I’ve faced since college graduation had thrown me for a loop. I started out as an ambitious, innovative, and ready to conquer-the-world individual who turned into a not-so-exciting hoe-hum. Technology was so impersonal that I felt as if I was losing touch with the world around me including myself. Since I’ve joined the studio I’ve felt the unruly grips of depression let loose and best yet… I’ve found myself again! Coming here you’ll make new friends, feel beautiful and will be able to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself. Dance is beautiful; it’s a language shared by all cultures connecting you to this earth and the souls around you… best yet, it bares no boundaries. Once you have the Fred Astaire experience, I guarantee you will walk a little taller, feel a little prouder, have a new family of friends and be so full of energy that falling asleep at night may be difficult. Celebrate you and the artwork your body can compose… that’s what it’s all about. Thank you to the entire staff at Menomonee Falls. Because of all of you, I hear the music and can celebrate each day as its own again.”
